EWB-NY Consulting:
Supporting nonprofits through advising and volunteering The EWB-NY Consulting initiative is an opportunity for EWB-NY volunteers new and experienced, to volunteer in sustainable engineering projects that are not official EWB projects. Oftentimes, an organization based in New York City will approach EWB-NY for engineering services on an active international development. Many times these organizations don稚 have the time or need to undertake the official EWB process, either because they are well funded or have sufficient capacity to develop projects internally. In these special cases, their need lies more directly in engineering expertise and guidance on developing their vision.
These projects are encouraged to develop in time into official EWB projects, but for the time being, the main need is for volunteers to advise the organization on the engineering process. Any advice provided prior to official EWB approval is purely for information purposes. EWB does not approve or review such activity and the organization understands that EWB-NY volunteers will be considered volunteers directly for the organization and any work provided would be in the capacity of an organization volunteer and not as an EWB-NY volunteer. EWB-NY is simply providing access to potential volunteers.

Pilot Project:
EWB-NY Consulting is teaming with EWB-Columbia University in to support a project in Cambodia that aims to build a secondary school that would be a model of sustainability and inclusion for the people of Cambodia.
The plan, as of now is to attract EWB-NY volunteers that can support this project through advising and volunteering with the Cambodia Project, Inc. (CPI) based out of Columbia University. In time we hope to establish this as an official EWB project, but until that time, all EWB-NY volunteers engaged in supporting CPI will be considered CPI volunteers.
