Educational Outreach in NY:

What opportunities does EWB provide students and teachers? New York City’s Professional Chapter of Engineering without Borders has recently formed an educational outreach committee to show students the dynamic and creative ways engineering is used in our world today! Below are the specific ways EWB would like share some of our exciting projects and enthusiastic professionals with our NYC students.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Online Lesson Plan Challenge Activity: Are you a teacher interested in integrating engineering principles into your classroom through a real world project?

Check out the JETS-EWB Website.

Please contact Shannon Flanagan/Christina Ho for more information, or if you have interest in learning more about the program.

* FREE Lesson plans NOW available online! Lessons are designed so that students become engineers. Students research, design, create, test, and reflect.

* Lessons provide extensive possibility for cross-curricular collaboration in all subjects, social studies, history, English, math, science, ect.

Engineering After School programs: Are you an after school advisor that would like support for your engineering program?

* EWB can support you by providing mentorship and/or activities

* We also hope to create discussion boards for online classroom-classroom, classroom-profesional, and even classroom-client collaboration

Engineer Mentoring Program: Are you a classroom teacher or after school program advisor interested in having a professional engineer support your students?

* Mentors available for classrooms and after school programs

* Develop relationships between students and professionals

Professional Engineer Presenter: Are you interested in having a real professional engineer share their experience with your class?

* Current professionals can share real-world experience students

* Prepares students for future careers and the path to get there
